Homemade Peanut Butter

peanutbutter_homemade

Ingredients

2 cups roasted peanuts (not in the shell)
1 tablespoon peanut oil
1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar or honey, to taste (optional)

Instructions

Put all the ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth, about 2 to 3 minutes. If it seems dry, add an additional 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Add salt and sugar to make the butter taste more like store-bought. Store it in a container with a lid in your refrigerator and eat within two weeks. If you want chunky peanut butter, just add 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts to the peanut butter after you take it out of the food processor.

Note: The oil will separate from the peanut butter as it sits for a while. Just stir it back in before using.
