Easter Treats

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Spring will be here soon!

I’m ready for warmer days, bright sunshine and the pastel colors of Easter that cheer up my heart, mind and soul after the long days of January and February. Those two months seem to drag on forever, wouldn’t you agree?

To help you celebrate Easter, I have some fun, easy, festive cupcakes. And for something hands-on at your Easter dinner, why not create one of each as a pattern for your guests and then let them try their hand at decorating their own cupcakes? I’ve found my guests love having something to do as they wait for dinner, plus it helps them feel as though they’ve had an actual part in the whole celebration. What a great ice-breaker for your gathering!

If you're looking for something besides sweets, the carrot cheese dip is a festive appetizer. Or try the Easter egg braids (don't let them intimidate you). Sometimes baking bread intimidates me, but I found these to be easy and fun to make. Also, if you opt to make the individual egg nests instead of the large egg braids, they make a festive treat at each place setting around your table.
