Appreciate Fall Foliage and Fine Wine at a Kansas Vineyard Near You
When you think of Kansas, you probably think of wheat production. Did you know the state is home to more than 80 wineries?
In fact, Kansas has a long history of grape growing, with almost 5,000 acres of vineyards prior to Prohibition, according to the Kansas Viticulture and Farm Winery Association. Wine production is thriving again, making it easy for vino connoisseurs to drink in the scene at a tasting room in nearly every corner of the state.
Liquid Art Winery & Estate
Manhattan
Liquid Art Winery & Estate’s vineyards are perched on top of a hill on the outskirts of Manhattan, offering visitors picturesque views of the Flint Hills. The tasting room, open Wednesday through Sunday, serves wine flights, beer and hard cider (they produce their own), plus a food menu. Sit underneath a shaded trellis of grape vines, savoring artisan pizza or a charcuterie board as streaming music plays in the background. Indoors, a double-sided fireplace invites cozy conversations over a glass of single-barrel Cabernet or Apple Pie Cider.
