Kids Craft: Camel Bookmark

Have kids who are over the hump and reading on their own? A friendly camel can mark where they left off in their favorite book.

YOU WILL NEED:

• Cardstock in brown and desired colors
• Tape
• Glue
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Water bottle lid

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut a 2-by-4-inch rectangle of brown cardstock. Fold two corners to the center of the opposite side to form a triangle.

2.  Tape the seam on the inside of the triangle so the finished bookmark will fit over a page corner. Cut the bottom into a curved shape.

3. Draw a camel neck, tail and legs on brown cardstock. Use a water bottle lid to trace a round head and add ears. Cut out all pieces.

4. Attach the legs to the front, inside of the corner triangle with glue. Attach all other pieces  to the back of the corner triangle with glue. Cut pieces of colorful paper to use as camel blankets and embellishments.

5. Decorate and glue as desired. Have fun with the details! Let dry before using.
