S'mores in your cast iron skillet
Ingredients
S'mores Bars
1 ¼ cups all-purposed flour
¾ cup graham cracker crumbs
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
2/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large milk chocolate Hershey Bars, 4.4 oz. each, broken into sections
2 cups mini marshmallows
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine butter and brown sugar, beating with an electric mixer until creamy; add egg and vanilla extract. Beating on low, slowly add flour mixture and mix until combined; press mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 x 9 baking dish, or substitute a greased 10” cast iron skillet.
Place chocolate pieces over the top of the dough, then sprinkle with the marshmallows. Bake, uncovered, on center rack for 23-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown. (If marshmallows begin to get too brown, place a sheet of foil over the top.)
Let bars cool, but cut into squares before marshmallows cool completely.
