Picnic Sweet Tea



1 quart water 

3-4 family size tea bags

1 ½ - 2 cups sugar, to taste 

Lemon circles or wedges (if desired)


Bring the water to boil in an electric kettle or a medium saucepan over medium heat. 

Remove the water from the heat source and add the tea bags; steep the tea for 10 minutes. 

In a gallon glass pitcher, immediately add the sugar; pour in approximately half of the warm tea, stirring well to dissolve the sugar. Remove the tea bags, then pour in the remainder of the brewed tea. If you enjoy lemon in your tea, feel free to add lemon circles. Chill before serving.
