This simplified Do-It-Yourself version of caramel apples is perfect for kiddos.

These caramel apple boats  are a fun treat to eat and to make. It's simple enough that kids can help assemble the treat.

You'll need:

• apples
• caramel dip
• extra goodies (chocolate chips, sprinkles, chocolate candies)
• small craft sticks

First slice your apple. Then press the craft stick into it as show to make a boat. 

Drizzle caramel dip on top of the apple boat. Top with candies and sprinkles. 

My kids loved having these as a special afternoon treat. Be sure to eat them right away so the caramel dip doesn't slide off the apples. Enjoy!
