A group of bloggers and dietitians learned more about food and farming when they participated in  Farm Food Tour this week. Stops included Merck Animal Health, Monsanto and a small processing facility, Central Missouri Meat and Sausage.

The tour was a collaboration between Kansas Farm Bureau, Kansas Pork Farmers, Kansas Soybean and United Soybean Board.

What do vegetarians eat when the #farmfoodtour serves beef for the lunch special? No worries, we aren't starving! And I'll be the first to say, the room smells amazing and these steaks look delicious! Merck Animal Health did a great job hosting us today, teaching our group of dietitians and bloggers all about the work being done to improve the safety and quality of animal ag. Fascinating stuff and so excited to keep learning more!

Spent my morning at Merck Animal Health learning about how their work affects our food supply. These tasty M&Ms actually demonstrate the hormones found in 6oz cabbage vs 6oz beef - in the cabbage: 4000ng & in the beef: 3.8ng.
