Jim is a father to four, ranging in ages from 2 to 17. His youngest son Augie was diagnosed with a disorder that affects his ability to speak. But, he has an affinity for all things farm. Thus, Jim encourages Augie's love of tractors and farm equipment, and they have an unspoken bond through field rides together, whether in a sprayer, Bobcat, or combine. Jim works tirelessly to pay for mounting medical bills and therapy for Augie, and makes time to take his youngest daughters out on the swing set or along to feed cattle. He farms with his dad and brother, and is always at everyone else's beck and call at times. I'm not sure how he does it, but it just seems to be in his quiet nature. He serves as a Trustee at church, and he's always stopping to help someone change a tire or give a jumpstart to.
Let's not forget that Jim bleeds "purple." He graduated from K-State in Animal Science and even converted his Nebraska-born wife to cheer on the Cats! He loves working cattle, does custom spraying, and finds his own sense of therapy in a combine. After talking him into a new set of golf clubs that weren't 30 years old, he's taken up a new passion for golf when weather allows. Now mind you, he's a "ginger" and a farmer, so those legs of his don't see the sun but a couple times a year.
This picture of Jim doesn't do him justice. He's got a strong jaw line and plenty of hard work creases to define his character of 43 years. His eyes are honest and he's a stud in a cowboy hat! He's got a big heart, a strong work ethic, and a love for his family beyond no other.
