Old Fashioned Christmas in Abilene
December 3, 2022 to December 4, 2022
Details
The Village at the Heritage Center in Dickinson County becomes a winter wonderland for an Old Fashioned Christmas event from 4-8 p.m. Dec. 3-4, 2022.
Living history includes a pioneer family preparing for Christmas in the authentic log cabin, a living nativity in the historic big, red barn, and goods like locally milled flour and homemade fudge sold in the general store.
Carolers will roam the grounds and a dulcimer duo, a fiddle/guitar/banjo trio, and a gospel quartet provide additional music. The historic Parker carousel provides rides to holiday tunes on its calliope. All of the village buildings are decked in greenery, bows and lights and 4H clubs decorate a Christmas tree lane providing a festive atmosphere. Last year, 1,000 people attended the two-day event that is part of the larger Abilene's Cowtown Christmas celebration.
