The C.L. Hoover Opera House in Junction City was constructed in 1882 on a foundation made of native Geary County limestone. Experiencing a fire in 1898, several renovations and a few owners, today the C.L. Hoover Opera House
serves as a state-of-the- art performing arts and civic center. The Opera House is on the State Historic Register and is a vibrant cultural landmark.
